VerityList Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice explains what information VerityList (“VerityList,” “we,” or “us”) collects when you use veritylist.com and our services (the “Service”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this notice.
1. Information You Provide
When you submit a listing, we collect the information you enter: the app name, platform, description, revenue figures, asking price, an optional store URL, your contact email and optional phone number, your reason for selling, and any screenshots or revenue-proof images you upload. When you contact a seller, we collect your name, email, and message. When you start a listing, we collect your email address first so we can remind you to finish. When you join the early-access list, we collect your email address and whether you identified as a buyer or seller. We also collect the content of any message you send us.
2. Information Collected Automatically
When you access or use the Service, certain technical information, including your IP address, browser and device characteristics, and request logs, is processed as necessary to provide the Service and to protect it against fraud and abuse. Our service providers may process such information in their routine operational and security logs.
3. Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and handles your card details directly under its own privacy terms; VerityList receives only payment identifiers and status, such as whether a charge succeeded, and never your full card number.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to review and publish listings; relay buyer inquiries to sellers; send service emails such as confirmations, up to three reminders to finish a listing you started, payment reminders for unpaid submissions, replacement management links, expiration notices, approval notices, and buyer messages; process the listing fee and related billing events; detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, spam, and abuse; operate, secure, and improve the Service; and comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
5. What Is Public and What Stays Private
Only the approved display fields of a published listing are shown publicly. Your seller email, phone number, private revenue-proof files, and internal review files are never shown on public pages. When a buyer contacts you, we relay the message to your private email; the buyer’s email is shared with you so you can reply, but your email is not revealed to the buyer unless you choose to respond.
6. Bot Protection
Our forms are protected against automated abuse by a third-party security service. To determine whether a submission originates from a person, that service may process limited technical information, such as your IP address and browser characteristics.
7. Service Providers We Share With
We disclose personal information only to service providers that process it on our behalf to operate the Service, including providers of hosting, data storage, payment processing, email delivery, security, and privacy-focused analytics. Such providers are permitted to process personal information only as necessary to provide their services to us. Our page analytics measure page views in the aggregate, do not use cookies, and do not track you across other websites. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use advertising networks or cross-site tracking technologies. We may disclose information where required by law or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of VerityList or others.
8. Cookies and Tracking
We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics purposes. When you access your listing through a private management link, we set a strictly necessary cookie to maintain your authenticated session on your listing page. Our security and infrastructure providers may also set strictly necessary cookies to operate and protect the Service. Because we do not track you across other websites, there is no cross-site tracking from which to opt out.
Buttons and links in the emails we send about a listing or a saved draft include a short code. When you click one, we record which email and which button you used, linked to that listing or draft, and how many times it was clicked, so we can see which emails are useful. We record this ourselves, on our own servers; we do not use tracking pixels, do not track whether you open our emails, and do not route links through a third-party tracking service. These records do not include your email address or IP address.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. Unpaid submissions and associated uploads are deleted after a short period. An email address collected when you start a listing is deleted after 7 days, unless you opt out of reminders, in which case we keep only the address so we never remind you again. Approved listings remain published for the limited term described in our Terms of Service. After a listing expires, is removed, is not approved, or is refunded, we delete the associated contact information, uploaded files, and listing content within a reasonable period. Email click records are deleted 12 months after the last recorded click.
We may retain a limited record of paid listings and related payments for as long as reasonably necessary to administer billing, refunds, and payment disputes; to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations; and to prevent fraud, after which such records are deleted or de-identified. Messages relayed by email remain in the recipients’ mailboxes, and our service providers retain their own records in accordance with their respective policies.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information we hold, including encrypting data in transit, restricting access to personal information, storing uploaded files privately, and monitoring for and blocking abuse. We also limit the information we collect and how long we retain it. No system is perfectly secure, so while we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Choices and Rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by replying to any VerityList email you have received from us, and you can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data and to object to certain processing, and we honor these where they apply. Legal, tax, or security obligations may require us to retain some records after a request.
12. Children
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Where Information Is Processed
Our providers operate primarily in the United States, and your information may be processed there. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
14. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated notice is posted on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised notice.
